Every workout starts from the ground. Be Lenka women’s sports barefoot shoes give you a direct line back to it. You feel the surface, you control the movement and the foot works as a full member of the team, not as a passenger in stiff footwear. That’s exactly what sport should look like.
Why exercise in barefoot shoes?
Because in exercise, the foot is your foundation, and a foundation should be stable. The thin springy sole gives the body precise information about the surface, so balance and coordination work at full capacity. Free toes can spread out and create a wider supporting surface, which you’ll appreciate in every lunge and balance exercise. And the foot muscles, which ordinary footwear leaves idle, engage during training and grow stronger together with the rest of the body.
Barefoot for yoga, pilates and group classes
Exercises built on balance and precise movement are home ground for barefoot. In yoga and pilates you’ll appreciate the stable contact with the mat and toes that actively join in the balance poses. In group classes, in turn, the springy sole that bends with every squat and lunge. Where studio rules require footwear, light barefoot sneakers are the closest substitute for exercising barefoot.
Which sports get along with barefoot the most?
Strength training, fitness, walking and ordinary active movement are ideal territory; stability and contact with the floor play the main role there. Gradually you can work your way up to running too, but it takes patience and technique. In sports with high impacts and sharp changes of direction, let the body decide and increase the load slowly. And for running and training in the terrain, women’s outdoor barefoot shoes with a profiled sole are a great fit.
Developed for movement, proven by training
Sports footwear must not disappoint at the hundredth repetition. That’s why Be Lenka builds its sports models on breathable materials that handle an intense tempo, and on its own sole compounds with grip on the gym floor and the rubber surface of the gym alike. Every model goes through testing over thousands of steps, training and everyday ones. Your only task is to show up for the workout. The foundation under your feet is taken care of.
Frequently asked questions about women’s sports barefoot shoes
Which barefoot shoes for running for women?
+ -Light sports models with a springy sole and a breathable upper, which let the foot work in its natural rhythm. More important than the model, though, is the progression. If you’ve been running in cushioned footwear until now, start with short stretches and let your calves and feet grow stronger. Running in barefoot is a technique that’s learnt, and it rewards you with a lighter step.
Can I jump, do HIIT and skipping rope in barefoot shoes?
+ -You can, but give the body an adaptation. In landings without cushioning, the calves and feet work at full capacity, which is a benefit long-term, but a proper load at the beginning too. Include jumps gradually, watch the technique of a soft landing on the forefoot and increase the volume over weeks. The skipping rope, by the way, is an excellent tool for learning the technique.
Exercise barefoot or in barefoot footwear?
+ -At home, feel free to go barefoot; it’s the most natural form of movement. In gyms and studios, though, hygiene and rules usually require footwear, and that’s exactly where barefoot is the most faithful substitute. You gain protection for the foot and cleanliness, while losing none of the stability and contact with the surface. Your feet will hardly know the difference.
