One, two, and they’re on. Be Lenka kids’ barefoot slip-on sneakers need no laces, no zips and no adult’s help. The child simply slips into them and runs off after more important things. Parents are left with a calm morning, while the little feet get plenty of space, springiness and comfort for the whole day.

Even simpler than velcro

Velcro is a great helper for children; slip-on goes a step further. The elastic band stretches when putting the shoe on and then springily wraps the little foot; the whole operation takes seconds even for a two-year-old sidekick. For the smallest children learning independence, it’s the shortest path to a proud "I did it myself". And exactly that moment is worth everything.

When slip-ons and when sneakers with velcro?

Slip-ons reign over ordinary days. Nursery, a walk, a visit to grandma’s: everywhere there, quick putting-on is priceless. For wilder sport and long running, in turn, you’ll appreciate the firmer fixation offered by classic kids’ barefoot sneakers with velcro or lacing. The ideal children’s wardrobe has both: slip-ons by the door for every day and sneakers for the more action-packed moments.

Built for children’s handling

Children don’t spare their footwear, and slip-ons take it doubly, since they get put on the most often. Be Lenka therefore selects the elastic elements of its children’s models with an emphasis on a long lifespan and tests everything over thousands of steps. The only thing that helps the construction is teaching the child not to tread on the heels when putting them on, though even that our workmanship reckons with. Children’s footwear must withstand children’s reality, not an ideal.

Most children manage it between their second and third year, so earlier than velcro and much earlier than laces. Help at the beginning by holding the shoe and show how to insert the heel correctly. After a few days of practice, you’ll be a mere spectator at putting-on time, which is exactly what you wish for in the morning.

The elastic collar adapts to a slighter instep too; what matters, though, is the right length. With a slimmer little foot, choose the size exactly according to the measured foot and the growth allowance from the chart, not larger. If you’re not sure, a simple test helps: when walking, the heel must not escape from the shoe.

That’s elastic decorative lacing, which is part of the design and at the same time springs when putting the shoes on. They look like classic sneakers, but nothing gets tied or untied, so nothing can come undone during a run either. Children get the look of big sneakers, parents get peace of mind and little feet get quick putting-on.
